Chelsea Brewing Company: "Microbrewed beer on the pier" Chelsea Brewing Company - CLOSED Tip by sarahandgareth
Chelsea Brewing Company - CLOSED, New York City: 1 reviews and 0 photos
For a city of its size, there really aren’t all that many brewpubs in New York; perhaps it’s difficult to find an affordable property large enough to accommodate the equipment required.
The Chelsea Brewing Company solved the problem by going out to the piers, an area that was out of favor for a long time but which is enjoying a renaissance now. You can enjoy the views across the Hudson from the deck in the warmer weather, with one of their beers in hand: they do some excellent brews, and the food is decent, without being wildly exciting. They do all the brewpub standards – sandwiches, fish and chips – as well as a few more healthful options, but it was the beer that kept us coming back. The decor is a little sports-bary, but the TVs are never intrusive, and anyway, most people want to know how the Yankees are doing, don't they?!
Address: Pier 59, Chelsea Piers
Price Comparison: about average
