Old Faithful Snowlodge: "Trout for Breakfast?" Snowlodge Tip by annk

The parks lodges, activities & restaurants are run by the company Xanterra at all locations. Surprisingly the food was consistently very good and reasonably priced. Throughout the park, menu items can vary slightly but you will see mostly the same at each of the locations.

Favorite Dish: I had to try the local specialties while visiting Yellowstone and the Tetons. And that included fish for breakfast and quite a hearty portion with poached eggs, potatoes, peppers and mushrooms.

At the Snowlodge there were nightly dinner specials starting at around $12.95. I was very satisfied with all our meals.

At the Lake Yellowstone Hotel some prices are a bit higher and the restaurant is more upscale with table linens and china. But like the rest of the park there is no dress code and jeans and sweatshirts were common.
I tried elk medallions (a specialty at the Lake Lodge) for dinner. It was very good although the elk tastes a little "gamey" which was to be expected.
