"Way off the beaten path! - Montfort-l'Amaury" Paris Off The Beaten Path Tip by fossettes

Paris Off The Beaten Path: 1,968 reviews and 4,171 photos

This small medieval village is easily accessable from Paris by train. I haven't seen it in any of the guide books I have, so there are not many tourists here!

We went to dinner here one night and then climbed up the hill to the ruined walls of an 15th century castle! The town is charming, with narrow medieval streets and half timbered houses. The bells of the church on the main square (also from the 15th century although it was founded in the 11th) chime the quarter hours
