First Town Hall was built in the 13th century. However its appearance changed into the Renaissance one after huge fire of the city that took place in 1536.
The new building was designed by an Italian architect J. B. Quadro from Lugano. It was ready in 1560 after 10 years of work.
Interesting tourist attraction of the Poznan Old Town Hall are the billy-goats, which horn each other every noonday on the tower.
Inside the Town Hall there is Museum of the History of Poznan City, where you can see historic monuments of Poznan from the 10th century.
In the cellar there are remnants of the first Town Hall.
Another interesting thing is the Great Vastibule, whose vault is supported by two pillars.
