Prague is a city of Gothic a Baroque buildings and other architectural delights, but don’t forget the Czech Art Nouveau artist Alphonse Mucha (1860-1939). Mucha achieved immediate fame in 1894 when he accepted an invitation to create a poster for Sarah Bernhardt, one of the greatest actresses of the time. Mucha was then a relatively unknown artist living in Paris, but then and there “The Mucha Style” was born, which was essential in shaping the Art Nouveau design of the day.
