"Hötorget - marketplace in the center" Shopping Tip by Maline

Shopping, Stockholm: 11 reviews and 15 photos

Hötorget (Hay Square) is the old marketplace right in the center of Stockholm. Mostly, you can buy fruits, vegetables and flowers here these days. Some cheap (ugly?) clothes, handbags, belts etc are also usually for sale on the racks.

Facing Hötorget is Konserthuset, the Concert house.
You can also check out Hötorgshallarna, a shopping/ restaurant complex with a great variety of food, at reasonable prices.
Actually a great tip for a lunch! There are several counters selling various types of food, but the eating area is common, so every taste can have their own way. It is a bit noisy, and not too chic though!
A great take-away coffee shop is directly to the right once you enter the complex.

Directions: Subway: HÖTORGET
Hötorget is so central, you can walk here if you are down town. Just take Drottninggatan and walk in the opposite direction of Old Town. 100 metres or so after the Åhlens house, turn right? one block up is Hötorget!
