Across the street from the Chicago Tribune Tower, on the northwest corner of Michigan and the Chicago River, is the Wrigley building, another of my favorite buildings in Chicago.

The Wrigley building was completed in 1924 to be the headquarters of the Wrigley chewing gum company (architects Graham, Anderson, Probst and White) and today still houses the headquarters along with many other companies.

The architectural shape of the Wrigley Building is patterned after the Seville Cathedral's Giralda Tower in Spain. The building has two sections connected by an open walkways between the 3rd and 14th floors. The north tower is 21 stories high and the south tower stands 30 stories high. It is covered with 250,000 individual white glazed terra cotta tiles.

The Wrigley Building is beautiful to see both in the daytime and at night when it is all lit up.
