There once was a beach beergarden in Düsseldorf. It was located at the end of one of the peninsulas in the media port, there were sandy beaches, beer, other drinks, lots of - mostly very trendy - young people enjoying the summer and great views and atmosphere here. It felt like holidays in the city actually!

Unfortunately the Monkeys had to close because new buildings had to be built on its spot. The people of Düsseldorf cried and remember the good times that were had by all here. There is a new Monkey's bar and club in town but it's a very posh place and I have never visited. Apparently there is a new beach bar as well, on top of Peek & Cloppenburg store in the middle of the shopping area. This means it's also in the middle of traffic so I haven't been there.

Dress Code: Beach wear and leisure look was ok. It was fun to watch people dressed to kill trying to walk on high heels through the pepples ;-)
