Fire Rock Ale Beer - not so good for me :-)

Legal drinking age in California is 21 - what a difference with Europe (18).

Never try to buy any boose when you are under 21. Even if you are above but look younger you will be asked to show your identity. I saw a warning sign in a liquor story that each customer under 30yo maybe asked to show his/her identity. Unfortunately they didn't want me to show them my identity hehe!

And it seems that they are very strict about it. I saw a guy who for me looked not so young, 25yo or so but I saw him showing his identity to the cashier in a supermarket - they communicated in Spanish.

But when you are in San Diego and you are 18-21 you can get a trolley to San Isidro (blue line - last stop) and walk a few hundred yards (meters) across the border (NO control in THIS direction hehe) to Tijuana. Legal drinking age in Mexico is 18.

Warning: coming back you must wait in a very long line (1/2 mile or so) but it goes smoothly - I waited approx. 30 min.
