Dolina Koscieliska (Koscieliska Valley) is on of the most interesting valleys in Western Tatras. It has about 6 km.
The whole valley is pervaded with the aura of old legends about hidden treasure. There are also ancient mining traditions going back to the15th century.
Among the most interesting spots in the valley are the Lodowe Zrodlo (Icy Spring), not far trom Brama Kraszewskiego, and the Jaskinia Mrozna (Frosty Cave) - reached by following the black trail from Lodowe Zrodlo. Farther up the valley you come to the Hala Pisana, and then to the gorge Wawoz Krakow. At the end of Koscieliska Valey you'll reach a mountain refuge at Ornak.
Koscieliska Valley is about 7 km from Zakopane and you can reach it by bus.
