For my money Malaga has few big ticket items that might draw you too this port city. That is compared to the other large cities of Andalusia. One of the few must see sights that you might want to investigate is Gibralfaro Castle. This might fortification was built high on a rocky hill. It is not known when the castle was built other than it was begun by the Moors. The castle consists numerous ramparts, towers and gateways that ramble along the hillside. The views of Malaga from these fortifications are sensational. Finally a warning, I walked up the hill from the town to the castle. This is inspite of warnings not to in my guidebook. I did not encounter any problems but I read that muggings can happen on this route.

Directions: Cerro de Gibralfaro
