  bluffs at Buffalo River
by btex

I read somewhere that the Buffalo River was the first protected river in the U.S. It deserves it. I stayed at an area called Steel Creek. As can be seen in the photo, the view was astounding...look at those bluffs! The river is clear and great for boating (canoes, kayaks.) The only problem was the rain - thunderstorms moved through when I was there, so I didn't get to see as much as I would have liked...or even light a campfire. In the morning, I did jump in the river and stand under a waterfall...which was excellent. I'm going back someday...and I'll rent a canoe.
