Nirmals Restaurant: "the Best Indian Food in the country!" Sheffield Restaurant Tip by TimMiles

Sheffield Restaurants: 70 reviews and 194 photos

This restaurant is worth a trip to Sheffield all by itself. In April 2003 it was listed in the Sunday Times Magazines as one of the best three places in the country to eat Indian food, and the walls inside are adorned with national and local reviews of the amazing food.

The food is, I have been informed very authentic and is different from what you come across in most Indian's; it is a lot drier and flavoursome and a huge variety of ingredients.

The chef Mrs Nirmal is an absolute gem of information and I would heartily recommend listening to what she says - if she recommends a dish, take it as it will be worth it! In fact, her manner edges on the brusque at times, but it is really because she wants the best for you! A good way to eat her is to let Mrs Nirmal choose for you - I promise you you won't be disappointed!

Favorite Dish: You must try the curried parsnips, and if you want a lamb shank massala, you better phone a few days in advance and take five friends!
