Guinness Brewery, Dublin: 140 reviews and 215 photos

I had heard that this is a tourist trap, but I couldn't disagree more. I really found this tour to be outstanding (and I'm not just saying that because of the free pint at the end). Granted it's rather expensive at 13.50 euros, but when you consider that the pint would cost at least 3 or 4 euros in a pub, then it's not quite as high. It starts on the first level with an interesting look at the ingredients. The tour then ascends through the technically advanced storehouse and gives a really cool audio visual presentation about Arthur Guinness. You actually learn a lot abou the city's history and not just about the brewery intself. Another highlight is the barrel making display in which you watch old films of the barrel makers. It's cool because you're watching the film on a screen that's inside the barrel! There is also a memorable display that feautures some of the most famous advertising and marketing campaigns for the company over the years.
