I've been to Oban twice in the last few years on roadtrips and I simply love it there! Maybe its just the sea air and the gorgeous views over the neighbouring islands but I just find the place so relaxing.

The town itself has a couple of good viewpoints - Macaigs Tower and Pulpit Hill and is also home to the Oban Whisky Distillery which is well worth a visit and why not try some of the local seafood?

Its the main ferry terminal for the islands such as Mull and, although Oban itself can be seen in a day, there are a lot of places within driving distance that make it a great base to explore the whole area.

Check out my Oban page for more info on the town and surrounding areas

Directions: West coast
