"Rano Kau/Orongo" Easter Island Things to Do Tip by fallaway

Easter Island Things to Do: 304 reviews and 693 photos

Rano Kau is a coastal volcano with a lake in its crater (see photo). The crater is a mile across. Stunning views of the crater, ocean, offshore islands, sheer nasty cliffs.

Orongo was the ceremonial village where the birdman lived. Quite amazing petroglyphs (rock carvings), all over theplace.

Address: Southwestern tip of the island.
