This is one of the remaining authentic market with the traditional Thailand's commerce on small Sampans along the waterways.
The Floating Market is very far away ( 80 km southwest ) from the city, nearly take 3 - 4 hrs ride for the busy traffic and you might need to get up very early to take public transport to catch up the morning market there, so it's better to join local tour through local travel agency like P& N Bangkok Travel Ltd. (address: 18, Soi Nana Tai, Sukhumvit 4 Road, Klongtoey, Bangkok Tel: (662)65691856. They will arrange a small van to pick you up at the hotel and also other tourists from the nearby hotels. It's very economic and for around 1000B, you can visit the Damnernsaduak Floating Market and Rose Garden with a delicious Thai buffet lunch near the waterfront. They will also drop you to see the coconut sugar local factory, Cobra Show and Royal Thai Handicraft Village on the way back to Bangkok. It's a nice experience especially the chance to show off your bargaining skill to take the small Sampans in the Floating Market.
