What to buy: You can buy any type of Costa Rican souvenir in Sarchí. Anything from coffee to tee-shirts to wooden carvings. Sarchí is known for its hand made painted oxcarts, but they are expencive. They vary in size too, from a few cms (inches) to a few meters (feet).

What to pay: Sarchí is the cheapest place in Costa Rica to buy souvenirs. Expect to pay 20%-60% less that what you would pay in San Jose. Shirts are about 3200 colones, crafts vary.
