The great temple above which the San Lorenzo in Miranda was built in the seventh and eighthcenturies has been identified with a fair degree of certainty from the inscription on the architrave. The temple was erected in 141AD in honour of Faustina, Antoninus Pius' wife, defied after her death. Years later when Antoninus died too the inscription on the architrave was made, and both the names of husband and wife were mentioned.
Directions: Left of the Temple of Romulus.
