"Jusupow Palace (Jusupowskij Dworiec)" Palaces Tip by Raffmo

Palaces, Saint Petersburg: 103 reviews and 205 photos

The palace was bought in 1830 by rich and famous Jusupow family. From all places which I have seen in St.Peter this is my number One, just before Hermitage. Inside there are nice, beautiful halls such as Muretanian Hall with fountain and multicoloured mosaics, small theathre for 180 spectators etc. As at 17 December 1916 Rasputin was invited to a party. Then he was poisoned, next Prince Feliks Jusupow was shooting to him and left him so. When the prince was back Rasputin was still alive and the fight started. Rasputin was able to escape to the courtyard where he was shot 3 times and beaten. After all his body was thrown into the reiver. After 3 day when the body was found it appeared that Rasputin died due to drown.

Opened daily 12.00-15.00.

Address: Nabierieznaja rieki Mojki 94
