Province of Ontario Things to Do: 203 reviews and 449 photos

Northern Ontario is an endless area with trees, lakes, rivers, and hardly anyone on the road..... except for a few crazy people like me of course. All you see on the road are the truckdrivers and a few mobile homes of people driving across the country from Toronto to the westcoast or visa versa. All you pass is an endless landscape of trees, trees and more trees. It's rugid and beautiful in it's own right, but wow, after hours, even days driving on these roads you wish you are out of Ontario and hit the border of Manitoba. It's an experience I wouldn't have wanted to miss in the world though! While driving here you realize how huge Ontario is. It's hard to imagine people living here, but they do. There are a few small villages on the way, mainly with restaurants and truck stops for people that are on the road. It's an empty landscape all the way from Sault Ste Marie until you hit Thunder Bay. When you get there you have a feel you are back into civilization...... the radio is working again..... you see people walking around, lots of traffic, hahaha, a very strange feeling.... a relief that you made it to Thunder Bay and drove such a long way.... a disappointment as nature was beautiful in it's own way.
