If you can find the place and not get misled by the signs as I did, you will arrive in a better frame of mind than I was.
This was my first experience of catacombs. Coming from a country where these things don't exist it certainly was a different cultural experience, to say the least.
Fully clothed and, for the most part, attached to the wall this was definitely something outside your normal church or art gallery experience.
The bodies are frequently placed in areas determined by your social position and the sterile environment with tiled floors led to an ambience you rarely encounter in normal life.
This particular catacomb dates from the 19th century.
One of the features is a young girl laid in a glass coffin which is mentioned due to her good state of preservation. Frankly, they all looked pretty unwell to me.
