Favorite thing: When we arrived in Fionnport, the place where the foot ferry leaves for Iona, we were astonished at the colour of the sea. It was a cloudless sunny day and the water was that bright peacock "Mediterranean" blue. I've never seen that colour water this far north in the Atlantic. There is a white sandy beach at Fionnport and two over on Iona, one on either side of the Ferry pier.

The rocky shores and barren hills make it feel like you might be in Turkey or Greece on a sunny day where the water is such a gorgeous colour.

Fondest memory: Iona is only a couple of miles long and is a Christian religious mecca. There are many spiritual groups that come to Iona to see the Abbey. The island has that aura of spiritualism too, it's very peaceful.
