We ventured forth from our luxury suite and took a bus to Mallaca aka Melaka (see ticket). The quality of the bus is depicted by the picture, they are clean and modern.

Just buying a ticket and the system which one follows is an experience.
Though we had 'dinner provided' at the Crowne Plaza, we had found a Chinese restaurant, very large, and got on well with the owner who had been sent over to our table by the non-English speaking waitress. It seems that not too many tourists come to the restaurant.

He had been to the US in connection with his business interests that included more than the restaurant and we enjoyed talking with him. He invited us to dinner at a restaurant that he owned which was 'mo bettah' and helped us to plan an itinerary, first stop Melaka. He even called ahead for us to secure a hotel and someone to take us around. They picked us up at the bus station.

<b>Note that the ticket is from Melaka to Ipoh, that came later. I wanted to show you what the bus looked like and give you an idea of how very nice the coaches are though the bus stations themselves are teeming with people and it can be fairly confusing.</b>

There are different booths for different companies, it is not just one bus company, there are others. The one we were told to take was that pictured above. Note the fare, $15.40RM, hours and hours of travel for less than $.50US. A travel bargain to say the least.
