"Bang Pa In" Day Trip - Bang Pa-In Palace Tip by pmarshuk

Day Trip - Bang Pa-In Palace, Bangkok: 38 reviews and 79 photos

The old summer palace at Bang-Pa In is between Bangkok and Ayutthaya. The palace was built during the reign of King Prasat Thong(1629-1656) and again by King Rama IV(1851-1868). The present-day royal palace is from the reign of King Chulalongkom(1868-1919).
Unfortunately my visit here was very brief because of a mess-up by the tour company. It should have been a combined visit to Ayutthaya and Bag Pa-In but nobody told the guide and driver - and it ended up that I was the only one who had bought the combined tour. So I was taken to the palace, given a ticket and told to be back at the mini-bus in just over an hour. Meanwhile the rest of the group were taken round a catherdral.
