"Take a walk where trains once ran" Val-David Things to Do Tip by feline01

Val-David Things to Do: 2 reviews and 2 photos

Petit train du Nord linear park is 200 kilometer (124 mile) hiking and biking trail during the spring/summer/fall and a cross-country skiing trail during the winter. This used to be a train line that went from Montreal to the Laurentian mountains. The train operated until 1981 and became the present useage trail in 1986. If this open space was in New Jersey, a developer would figure out a way to build condominiums on it.

You can rent bikes in Val-David or just walk village to village. If you get tired along the way (which we did), stop in one of the tiny villages and you will be able to get a bus or taxi back to wherever you started. You need to have a pass to use the trail if on a bicycle/cross-country ski or snowmobile.
