The Wisconsin Dells has a million different places to stay and a million things to do, but it is very busy in the summer. There are motels with waterparks in them and others that just have a outside pool. When making reservations to come to the "Dells", as locals call it, you may be surprised by the rates. If you are interested in the water tours and not a lot of people in the pool steer clear of the water parks.

Unique Suggestions: The Wisconsin Dells has some very beautiful scenic boat tours and a fun boat ride called the Ducks. The Ducks are a land and water vehicle.

There is an Indian Ceremonial you can go to see from a boat ride also.

The Tommy Bartlet Water Show is a nice water ski show. There are many, many little shops to buy a souvenir from, but the one I like the most is the Indian Trading Post. You can get all kinds of Indian jewelry, etc. from this store at a reasonable price.

Fun Alternatives: If you would like something without a lot of people involved you could come to Reedsburg, which is only 17 miles away on a lovely ride through the country, and go walking or biking on the 400 Trail. It is an old railroad bed turned into a nice country trail. You will probably see wild deer and turkeys and other wildlife along this trail.

There is shopping here without the hustle and bustle of the Dells. There are several nice motels in Reedsburg also.

There is also a casino just outside the Dells, that you can drive to or catch a bus to.
