Ahhh yes, see it and weep. Views don't come much better than this around the Meditteranean. To be there on a fine, non-polluted day is to be blessed. I was blessed. The walk was worth every minute and then some. To go with the feeling of achievement I got a vision splendid to boot.
Villa Cimbone and Villa Rufolo are available for tourists at a price, the panorama from the latter being the inspiration for Wagner's "Parsifal".
Looking towards Salerno is the preferred option and it is not surprising to see busloads of tourists being disgorged at regular intervals. I would suggest you join them (or you could walk as some do!).
The town square is pleasant in the Italian manner despite the hoards but ultimately the south side beckons like a magnet and, trust me, the view is what you'll remember Ravello most for.
Directions: Amalfi coast
