The other notable attraction in Spoleto is the mediaeval aqueduct, a standout wherever it is viewed from. Both sides are accessible but the romantic flat walk around the impressive castle (Rocca Albornoz - a huge papal fortress finished in 1364) taking in the views around the countryside from its privileged position I would suggest is the most worthy option.
The 14th century Ponte delle Torri (bridge of towers) is 80 metres at its highest point and if you walk across the aqueduct there is a path that leads to the Strada di Monteluco and the church with the 12th century carvings on its facade, that of San Pietro.
Spoleto is one of the five towns we both voted we would have liked to spend a lot more time at.
