The most prominent builing on the square is, obviously, the City Hall. The original building was located on the Square of Our Lady, next to the palace of the Generality, but it was moved in the XIX century to the so called "House of Education" (XVIII century) a teaching institution for ladies in the former Brotherhood of the Blood. The building was totally rebuilt in the early XX century in order to adapt it to its new dignity. It is then that the elegat classicist façade with neo-barroque elements and a slender clock tower was added.
