Favorite thing: The Westin Hotel is a brand new facility located right across from the Port Authority Bus Terminal, and not far from the burgeoning Times Square district. It's designed by the famous (some would say notorious) Miami-based Arquitectonica firm, and brings a bit of South Beach to Manhattan. It's certainly a bolt of color on the skyscape, like no other building on this crowded island. Supposedly, 45-story town is meant to look as if a bolt of lightning had split it in two. I suppose a bit of Floridian exuberance can be a good thing - especially close to the Disneyified theatre district.
