"Gaze in awe at the palace's portal" Valencia Things to Do Tip by DanielF

The most outstanding part of the palace is the alabaster portal, crowned by a revolving image of Our lady of the Unsheltered that can be displayed on the façade or inside the building at the whim of the resident family. The main figures in the alabaster portal depict two voluminous men which are an allegory of the two main rivers in the former Kingdom of Valencia: the river Xúquer and the river Túria.
I have read that the name of the Marquis comes from these two rivers (Dos Aguas = Two Waters in Spanish), but probably its origins are in the small town of the same name (Dos Aguas), several kilometres inland off Valencia.
