  Rydal Water

We went on a nice walk along Grasmere Lake and Rydal Water. We started in Grasmere, a lovely little village full of slate houses and a strange smell from the local gingerbread shop.

From there it's a short walk to the water. Here it gets very scenic, you are surrounded by sheep and the wonderful scenery. At the other end of Grasmere Lake there's a beautiful beach - a perfect spot for a picnic!

Continue along the little river through the forest, don't step on frogs on the path and you will end up at Rydal Water - the next lake!

Here the views are even more scenic, the mountains around it are even higher and with its islands and stone walls around it looks a bit wilder than the lake before.

And on the far end of the lake there's a pub (= the long awaited toilet), a road and a bus stop so that you can take the bus back to civilisation (=Grasmere).
