This is a seafood and fish market on the Washington waterfront. This is an informal outdoor place which is frequented by small groups and families, local people on a lunch break, and some tourists. You will not meet any diplomats or politicians here. What you will see are floating booths with the pungent smell of raw fish permeating the area.

Specialties include seafood sandwiches ($6-10), clams ($7), and shrimp ($7), cooked while you wait. Raw seafood available for takeout. Open in summer daily 8am-9pm, in winter 8am-8pm.

This market dates back to when boats ran up from the Chincoteague - North and South Carolina - bringing fresh fish to the nation's capital.
