"Bilingualism" Belgium Favorite Tip by Taffi

Belgium General: 318 reviews and 296 photos

Favorite thing: Belgium has three official languages, of which Flemish (Dutch) and Walloon (French) are the largest. Brussels is bilingual, with street and road signs in both languages.
Bilingualism has its drawbacks as well as its charms. A personal opinion: people tend to overemphasize the drawbacks! Outside Brussels bilingualism is hardly noticeable at all! If you pick up a jar of mayonnaise in the supermarket there's a chance the label wil read "Mayon(n)aise", but that's about how far it goes...
