The Supper Club: "The Supper Club: Oasical Palace" Melbourne Nightlife Tip by amyhenderson

Melbourne Nightlife: 183 reviews and 162 photos

Once upstairs I can assure you that you will be greeted by the most fantastic sight. It looks something like an absolute lap of luxury composed in browns and yellows. All the furniture is top quality antique, and its best to go there if you intend to get totally drunk, as the prices of the drinks will possibly depress you. They serve not only the finest alcohol available, echoing from all the most prestigious corners of the globe, but expensive (tasteful) snacks as well. They have stuff like Bulgarian Caviar for forty marks a teaspoon, and water crackers and of course the stalwart of southern Australian food - nachos. My friends Ed and Karl were very impressed by the whole scenario and immediately embarked upon a voyage of whiskey discovery, flanked by top-notch jazz music, and a few unfinished games of chess. Although it was obvious that Karl and I were a couple at the time, the sheer euphoria of the classy establishment soon saw to it that Ed was included also. The waiter was unperturbed - in fact he sat down and started drinking with us.
The Supper Club is not like the usual inner city club - filled with potential film-makers and general pool masters. No, the Supper Club is something different where each visitor is instantly transformed into an example of success and, well, inebriation. If you have the time (not to mention at least thirty dollars) it's not a bad idea to go down and check it out.
