Ther are about twelve skyscrappers in downtown Montreal. The first one to be builded was the Place Ville-Marie which is the creation of William Pei, that chinese architect who builded the piramid of the Louvres in Paris. This took place in 1962. After that the Tallest buildings were erected are not higher than the level of Mount Royal (235 meters). The IBM building has 55 stories and the 1000 Lagauchetière building has 51 but is at the same level because it was builded on a lower street. This is the story of the Montreal's skyscrappers.
Directions: The downtown district is located in the center south part of the Montreal Island. That is where you can visited the underground city which is about four kilometers square.
