"No better place for a picnic." Columbus-Belmont State Park Restaurant Tip by tony248

  One of the large pavilions
by tony248

Bring your own meal or make use of the concession stand. We picked up a hot lunch at the concession stand and then went up to the top of ridge to one of the small pavilions to eat. It was great. There was a light, warm rain with a light breeze. The pavilion was built of local stone and wood beams with a large stone table in athe center. We sat on the table and enjoyed the view, the food, and the peace. From the aspect of this photo, to the left is the highest part of the park, the best view, and to the right are the earthworks of the part of the fort nearest the river.
