Tower Bridge, London: 308 reviews and 521 photos

The most famous bridge spanning the Thames River opened in 1894 and was designed by Sir John Wolfe Barry and Sir Horace Jones. They say it cost 1.5 million pounds to build and it took 9 years to finish. Large vessels can pass under the bridge due to the two hinges at either end which can be raised or lowered while the traffic is halted. You can find a museum of London Bridges in the South Tower.
