Thailand has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. With hundreds of islands to do your water activities at. The more well known ones are Koh Samui, Koh Samet, and of course Phuket and the Phi Phi Islands! Pattaya isnt an island, it is a beach and I think it's gone too touristy over the years it's slowly losing its charm. Visit the Phi Phi Islands if your in for some Leonardo Dicaprio waterfalls, yea, that's where they filmed the Beach.
