  East Street/ Center in Ashburton

the typical rural face of Canterbury.one of the many Farmland Towns, at the Mouth of the Rakaia River. you can't miss it, driving down from Christchurch on Highway 1 linking the region of Canterbury with Otago. the Mainstreet is part of the Highway, many Shops and Cafes are situated here. If you take some time out, buy your Lunch and have a walk through the beautiful Domain.Lovely Rosegardens, Flowers, big old Tree's, planted by the first Settlers and native Tree's and Shrubs. And if you have a bit more time, drive up to the Rakaia Gorge, ca.50km from Ashburton.Quiet salmon fishing or noisy Powerboating through he Gorge..the choice is yours
