Cycling the French Alps is a must do if you love biking. Be sure to have an array of gears on your bike including a small chainring for climbing and also a good granny gear! You will also need good breaks as sometimes you will go down for 50 km at a time!!! French people are really in love with cyclists (thanks to the Tour de France) so don't be surprised if they ask you if you are in the Tour the France this year!!!

Equipment: My chaining is 52-42-26 in the front and 11-32 in the back. With that I can challenge myself with most hills even with 65 pounds of gear on the bike. Make sure you bring a good pair of gloves and warm clothes for the descent.
