The Sandia Peak Ski Area lies on the eastern slope of the mountain. The top of the 7,500-foot double chair lift is just below the upper terminal of the Tramway. To get to the Ski Area, you can either take the Tramway and walk down the stairs to the chair lift, or take the very scenic drive from the east side of the Peak.

Directions: Drive east on I-40 to exit for Highway 14 North. Continue north to exit for Highway 165 (Sandia Peak National Scenic Byway); the exit is on your left. Drive up the mountain on winding two-lane road.
