Helsinki Off The Beaten Path: 246 reviews and 377 photos
Just a few steps away from the Senatsquare you will find on Snelmanninkatu a nice new-renaissance building: the Säätytalo.
This house was taken into use in 1891 and was planned by Karl Gustaf Nyström.
It is a former assembley site where the other classes but the aristocrats met to make politic.
In the capitel over the entrance you see the emperor Alexander I confirming Finland's laws and rights. The hall is worth a visit.
Across the street you find the National Bank of Finland with a monument of J.V. Snelman
