without beer things do not seem to go as well
by richiecdisc

In 1994, Czechs drank 283 pints of beer per person, well in front of Germany, who was second with 251. Beer is inexpensive by western standards at around 50 cents per 20 ounce serving and you can even find it for less if you look around. There is not the great variety of beer styles as say a country like Belgium or even Germany, but the overall quality is good and there are some find light and dark lagers worth seeking out. Keep your eyes out for something different and try it. No use drinking the same thing every time, so have some fun with it. Czech beer also goes very well with the starchy foods so typical of the country. Here we have a beer goulash served with two types of knedley (dumplings). Those in the foreground are made with bread and the others are potato based.
