"Visit a pub serving real draught beer" United Kingdom Things to Do Tip by Galahad

Visit a pub and try a hand pumped draught real ale. There is an annual guide to the pubs, the ales themselves and the breweries, quite a lot of which are micro-breweries only serving a local area around the brewery. Recently (Nov 2004) I have noticed that many of these small breweries are now producing bottled conditioned beer and selling them at their local fermers makets and a few local off-licences. In many areas the local branch of CAMRA produce a guide to the local pubs and ales. Taking under 18 year olds to pubs is quite possible but the rules are a bit restrictive and complicated so it is best to check with the landlord of a pub what he allows.

Directions: Every town and village has a pub serving real beer or ale
