If you find yourself near the Bavarian Alps I would say there is a must to take a hike.
There are numerous paths all over the place and to make it easier you can take a cable car to the top and walk down.
We took the cable car to the top of Nebelhorn (2224m) and walked down through beautiful landscapes. The views there are great, all those cute cottages, cows and villages.
It took us approx 4-5 hours down and 1 hour up.
Directions: The cable car station to Nebelhorn is in Oberstdorf.
