OK, Kathmandu is nice - but don't miss <b>Pokhara</b>.
Pokhara lies surrounded by the Annapurna massif, right beside a lake. This location makes it a perfect place to shoot fabulous photographs and to trekk in the mountains. You do not have to trekk for weeks to get in the Himalaya-spirit - even on a short one-day-trekk you can experience breathtaking scenaries and heights. One pleasant one-day-walk is to Sarangkot, at an elevation of 1592 metres. Start your walk early in the morning, just as the sun raises, and enjoy your excursion. If you take the walk later in the afternoon, the mountains are often hidden in clouds and you don't get that faboulous photos as you've always wanted...

Directions: Sarangkot is reached by a walk from the Binde Basini Temple in Pokhara (Ignore the children wanting to guide you, you can't get lost) you just have to follow the signs. It should take you approximatel
