"Glacier Bay" Alaska Favorite Tip by uberteacher

Favorite thing: One day, the cruise ship went to Glacier Bay. We watched it calve into the sea from the deck of the ship and the ice bergs that had broken off were turquoise in appearence. It was absolutely surreal. We saw seals as they followed the ship and perched upon the bergs. At one point we saw blood smeared upon a berg and were told that a harbor seal had just been born there! The glacier appeared to be fairly close, and only a few stories high, when in actuality, it was a couple of miles away and about as thick.

Fondest memory: When ashore, we went walking around and ended up in a park where there were swings. We swung in the crisp air while these incredible snow-capped mountains loomed above us. Besides those of us from the ship, the town seemed fairly uninhabited.
