"Denver's oldest hotel" The Brown Palace Hotel Tip by goingsolo

The Brown Palace Hotel, Denver: 944 reviews and 3 photos

Hotel has a 9 story lobby with a stained glass ceiling, 230 rooms and 4 restaurants, one of which has won an award from Wine Spectator.

Unique Qualities: Brown Palace, not shown in the photo, opened in 1892, is Denver's oldest hotel. Upon opening, it was advertised that the hotel had every feature that could be desired by anyone staying at a hotel. Brown Palace featured a private library, bowling alley and billard tables. There is also a crematorium built into the basement of the hotel. There is no record that anyone used it and it was apparently eliminated as a result of remodeling in 1923.
